Washington, D.C. – Philippine Red Cross Chairman Richard Gordon says Emagine IT’s donation of $5,000 for the Typhoon Haiyan relief fund is “a huge morale boost for the millions of families who lost their homes and loved ones, and need all the support they can get to rebuild their lives.”

At a brief ceremony held recently at a Philippine Red Cross center in Tacloban City, which suffered massive devastation following the worst storm in recorded history, Gordon accepted the donation from Bing Branigin, a director of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA). In November, NaFFAA officers drew the attention of Emagine IT to the plight of typhoon victims and appealed for help.

“We are deeply grateful to the leaders of Emagine IT for responding promptly with compassion and generosity,” Branigin said. “Their action reflects the company’s commitment to charitable and humanitarian endeavors – values that strengthen and sustain our connection as human beings.”

As a professional services company, Emagine IT specializes in delivering innovative, cost conscious solutions to help commercial, federal, state and local governments achieve high performance efficiencies. Emagine IT also encourages its employees to donate time and resources to noble causes.

In December, Emagine IT held its annual Holiday Social event, which was attended by more than 500 guests. They included officials from various US Federal agencies, such as Health & Human Services, Patent & Trademark Office, US Dept. of Agriculture, Small Business Administration, Dept. of Homeland Security, US Immigration & Customs Enforcement, National Resources Conservation Service, Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service, Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) and a few others. Dignitaries and diplomats from Argentina, Bahrain and the Philippines were also present.

At the dinner event held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., Philippine Ambassador Jose L. Cuisia Jr. accepted the check on behalf of NaFFAA from Emagine IT President Aamir Saleem and Chief Operating Officer Song Pak.

“Thank you for helping save the lives of our people when Typhoon Haiyan left behind a trail of death and destruction,” Cuisia said, noting that more than 6,000 people have died, 27,000 injured and an estimated 3.9 million displaced from their homes. “Emagine IT’s generosity means a lot to the Filipino people at a time when there is a great sense of loss and grief across the Philippines. Your kind gesture will always be remembered.”

Emagine IT chose two other major philantrophic campaign events last year. The company was the proud sponsor of the American Heart Association’s 2013 Greater Washington Heart Walk. It also hosted the “Toys for Tots – Washington, D.C.” by collecting and distributing new toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate and needy children in the community.
