ACTION ALERT: Donate Towards Calamity Relief

Donations for Earthquake and Super Typhoon Victims in the Philippines

Dear Friends:

In the wake of two consecutive disasters befalling the Philippines –- first, the massive earthquakes that devastated Bohol, Cebu and Iloilo and, second, the super typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda that ravaged no less than 44 Philippine provinces with a rising toll death of 10,000 people and counting — we ask for your generosity in donating to communities hardest hit by these calamities. The immeasurable devastation and personal loss of our countrymen and women due to recent outbreaks of earthquake and the super typhoon call for our concerted action.

The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA), has been designated by the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation (PDRF –, as the lead organization in the U.S. to coordinate PRDF’s reconstruction efforts among Filipino American communities in support of Filipinos who are in emergent needs brought about by these recent calamities in the Philippines.

NaFFAA’s partner in the U.S., the Philippine Disaster Recovery Fund (PDRF), headed jointly by SMART/PLDT Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan and Cardinal Ricardo J. Vidal, was set up in 2009 as a direct response to President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino’s Executive Order mandating “that the resources of the private sector be tapped to bring about the reconstruction of affected areas in the Philippines and to address the needs of the affected population”.

Pursuant to the NaFFAA/PDRO partnership, our primary role at NaFFAA is to mobilize Filipino American communities to establish a fund resource here in the U.S. to support disaster relief back home.
